Wow! 4 Months is a Record

Before you say it, I am well aware of the fact that I am a slacker when it comes to the blog. I always say I am going to do better, but then life takes over.

Here is the run down since the beginning of 2012. I work a lot. I work and when I get home I tend to crash and then repeat the cycle. Work is going well. I am learning a lot and although it has it's hard moments I know that the Lord is preparing me for something. He is preparing me for my next step. One day I will look back and say "Oh! I am so glad I did that extra job." I know that there is a reason. I just try to focus on that.

Since the begining of the year I have traveled to Birmingham, Auburn, Calhoun County, Decatur, Folly Beach, and Edisto Island. I spent a lot of time in Knoxville. I have even had some visitors. I went to Birmingham to have a weekend with my cousins and sisters. We don't see each other enough and so this was a weekend for us to just hang out and relax. I went to Auburn to see friends and family. I got to spend time with my Mom, Aunt Jill, Laurie, Julie, Emily, Laura, Molly, and Andy. We spent the weekend celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Julie's birthday. I also went to visit Hollie and Wynn in Calhoun County Alabama. Hollie works for Talledega and Wynn and I went to visit.

David and I spent the last weekend in April at Folly Beach with his family. We all lived in one house and just hung out. It was fun to see everyone and catch up. The only downfall was that I got burnt to a crisp. It was the worst sunburn of my life. My legs radiated heat for a solid three days and at one point my bottom lip doubled in size. I learned my lesson and on the way home I bought new sunscreen for the rest of the summer.
The next weekend I headed to Decatur to visit Mom and Dad. I needed that. I have always loved going home. It has been one of my favorite things since going to college. I love the little slice of land that we live on and the deck that we added on. It's just so relaxing to go there and not have one single worry. I spent the weekend hanging out, shopping and cooking with Mom. Dad spent most of his time in the yard with Sully.

Mother's Day weekend I was graced with a visit from Molly and Laura. I was so excited to see the two of them. I also couldn't wait to explore all the places in Knoxville that I have wanted to go, but didn't want to brave a lone. We packed as much as we could into the short weekend that they were here. I miss my best friends so much. I took for granted the times that we lived just one flight of stairs from each other. If someone gave me the option of living in a dorm room again with them I would be all over it. I don't think they will ever know how much it meant to me that they drove all the way to see me. Next I will be going to Birmingham to visit.

Last week I was lucky enough to get to see David's family again for the happy ocasion of celebrating his cousin's wedding. I also got the chance to conquer my fear of flying by myself when I flew from Knoxville to Charleston with a 37 minute layover in Atlanta. Once I arrived David and I headed to dinner then we drove the 40 miles to Edisto. It is such a cool place. It's small and everyone knows when there are non-locals in their midst. We spent most of our time on the beach on Wednesday and Thursday playing a good amount of volleyball. Friday we started the day off with volleyball on the beach and ended it with the rehearsal dinner. Saturday David and I went to eat lunch at a local Bar-B-Q Restaurant which just happened to be the restaurant of the caterer for the wedding. The wedding was beautiful. The reception was so much fun and Anna and Preston looked as happy as two people could look. Sunday we cleaned up and headed to the brunch for the couple and then headed towards Knoxville.

Now that information over load is over here are some pictures:

NYE Celebration

Happy 2012 everyone!

I hope that you all got to have as much fun with people you love on NYE as I did.

My weekend half way started early when Mom and Dad got here on Thursday with my furniture. We worked for about and hour and a half but finally got everything moved in. We went to eat after that and then Mom and Dad headed back to the hotel and I started organizing. 2 hours later I crashed.

Friday I headed to work while Mom and Dad went exploring. When the Weleksos arrived we met them and went to dinner. Sadly David couldn't come because it was his worst week of work. After dinner we all headed back to hang out with Ashley and Zach.

Saturday David and I went to lunch with Mom and Dad and then I headed to to Gatlinburg, but we didn't get very far due the massive amounts of traffic. We headed to the outlets to return a few coats. Then David and I went to get ready for his cousins wedding. We met his family at the hotel and headed to the wedding.

The church was beautiful and even though I don't really know the bride and groom they looked as happy as possible. I was also really glad that I got to meet some more of David's family. He has a great family and is very lucky.

Sunday everyone headed back home and I headed to work. I always hate it when everyone leaves, but it always has to happen. I'm just super glad that I got to spend so much time with people I love this weekend.

I am so blessed. Here are a few photos:

2012 Snuck Up On Me

Last year I was super on top of the new year, this year not so much.

I feel like 2012 is going to closely resemble December of 2011. A whirlwind.

This year instead of re-capping everything from every month like last year I am going to say the twelve things I am most proud of myself for doing. (In other words I am going to pat myself on the back.)

1. I made a move with out any real plans because I was following my heart and trusting in the Lord's provision.
2. I stayed in touch with my friends even though we are all living in different cities for the first time ever.
3. Started not one, but two jobs.
4. Didn't cry at a single wedding. (sorry guys)
5. Learned the value of a dollar. This lesson is a hard one to learn.
6. Learned how to be ok with having a breakdown. Sometimes you need to just cry it out.
7. Moved in and out of Apartments 4 times. (Shout out to Dad)
8. Learned that all people aren't going to do the same crappy things that some others have done.
9. Found out that my friends have my back no matter what.
10. Made time to spend with my family.
11. Went to almost all of the Auburn home games.
12. Grew up just a little bit.

I know these aren't very exciting to most people, but they are to me.

I'll be back later with an update on last weekend. I have to upload my photos.

Christmas can't be over?

Today is the first day of having to wait for Christmas again. It is a real buzzkill. I love Christmas. To me Christmas isn't about the presents. It is fun to get presents, but in reality I could not get a single thing and be happy just to be reminded of the fact that more years ago than I can believe The Lord was trying to save my soul with His Son. That's why on Christmas I like to surround myself with the biggest blessing the Lord has ever given me, my family. As everyone who has ever read this blog knows, we are super close and love any reason to spend some time together. The gang is loud and fun, and as Bob said Spirited. When someone gets you that present you really wanted, we cheer. When you say what you are thankful for in the past year, everyone cries. We just love each other and we love to support each other.

This year was rare. My Dad's whole family was all in attendance of Christmas Eve at some point. This hasn't happened in over ten years. My Mom's whole family (HB's for life) was in the same house for the second time in three months. We all got to spend time catching up and talking about what was going on. I was so happy that we all got to be together. I was so happy that I didn't take a single picture.

Also today is my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. I am blessed with parents who love each other, and love the Lord. They always show us love and always put us first. Their love for our family is incredible. Also, they are coming to visit this weekend
I am thankful this year. Thankful and blessed. What more could a girl ask for really?
I hope you all have a splendid day!

I know, You Probably Thought I Was Dead

Hello All!
I think it has been a very long time since I last updated you people on my life. Yes, a very long time indeed. I have been meaning to do better, but until recently my posts would have been depressing and no one wants that.

First of all: Melissa is Married. Sorry boys, my lovely oldest sister is off the market. I must say that I couldn't be happier with my new Brother-in-Law. He is a great addition to the fam and I think at some points he even manages to calm us down. The wedding was perfect. I don't really think anyone could ever top it. Everyone had so much fun. Melissa of course looked so beautiful. I was honored to get to be in the wedding. I am so glad that I got to share this day with my sister. She is one of my role-models in life. Bob is a welcome addition to the clan. Finally, a boy in the Pigg clan, well technically Melissa is now a Hunter but oh well. Here are some photos.

Please pardon the lack of make-up
I wish that I could, but I can not take credit for these photos. They were done by Melissa's wedding photographer. He did a great job, and was so much fun.

Since the wedding I have mostly been traveling around. David and I went to Auburn for the Florida game. It was so much fun. I was happy to spend the day with the family and David got to spend some time with his long lost friends that think he is dead. We also got to see his family in Athens and even though the game was terrible I am glad that we got to spend some time with them.

Now for the second bit of big news. I now have not one, but TWO jobs. I got a job working part time at Ann Taylor a few weeks ago because the job search was all dead ends. I had orientation and that very same day I got a call from the Marriott in Knoxville. I went in for an interview and the next thing I knew I got a job! I am so excited for both opportunities beause the are both such great companies. Both jobs are an answered prayer. I am so blessed. The Lord has truly ensured my care for the past few months and now I hope I can return the favor to the generous.
I think that is it for now!

Quick Life Update

Here is the quick hitter version...
1. I no longer live in Auburn, so WEIRD! I'm currently a nomad.
2. I no longer have a job, annoying and not my smartest move ever.
3. I am job hunting and praying like crazy that someone hires me.
4. David has been so helpful, he has been driving me around and helping me with jobs.
5. I can tell you my employment history as well as my reference info in about 20 seconds.
6. Even though my friends are far away they could not be more supportive and I am thankful.
7. Laurie started blog, everyone should read it http://gamedayglitterati.blogspot.com/. AWESOME!
8. My parents, sisters and cousins are awesome.
9. We went to Dixie Stampede last night, David bought me a drink in a boot and a flag. He's great.
10. Hopefully the next time I blog you will read the words, I HAVE A JOB in the Title line.

Here's a few pics:

MIA (Part 2)

The month of June included Paige’s bachelorette party, my birthday, two of my oldest friends getting married (in the same weekend), a trip to Knoxville and my sister’s bachelorette party. We will start with Paige’s bachelorette: her party was June 4, Sarah’s birthday, and it was in Huntsville. Christen, Ashten and I rode together to Paige’s house where the party started off. We had food, played games, Paige opened presents and then we were off to celebrate in downtown Huntsville. It was a good party and it was good to catch up with old friends and meet the girls that were going to be in the wedding. Paige had a great time and got lots of good things at her shower. Overall it was a successful weekend.

The next week of my life was pure craziness. I headed home that Wednesday and made a much needed stop in Birmingham to meet up with my long lost friend Hollie and eat dinner. Her, her friend Ellen, Wynn and I met at The Summit and ate dinner to catch up, and they surprised me with a birthday celebration. Hollie got be a delicious cake from Edgar’s in Birmingham and it was awesome! It was good to catch up and just hang out. Thursday was my birthday which I spent running errands such as getting my nails done, and buying shoes before I headed to meet up with everyone for Paige and Joey’s wedding rehearsal. By far the shortest rehearsal I have ever been to. We only did it twice, which in my book is the perfect amount. We then headed to The Ledges where we had a delicious dinner and got to hang out and just spend time with the happy couple.

Friday was the wedding. We all arrived at the Botanical Gardens in Huntsville at 1:00 to begin getting ready. We did hair, makeup, took a few pictures and told stories before we headed outside to take pictures. The Botanical Gardens has so many great places to take pictures and the ones that I have seen since have been fabulous. The ceremony was very pretty and the Pastor told stories of how Paige and Joey met. The ceremony was sweet, personal, and luckily kind of short (it was a little hot outside). We then headed to the reception where we danced the night away.

The next day my friend Ashten got married at the Weston in Huntsville. The ceremony was very pretty and she of course looked as glamorous as I have ever seen her. She got so many compliments that I am sure she lost count of the number. Her and Dale had been dating for ten years by the time they got married and they still looked just as in love as they always have. The reception was so fun and we all got to sit and talk about growing up together and kind of catch up on what everyone was up to these days. It was so much fun!

Most people know that David now lives in TN, right around Knoxville (which I say because most people look at you funny when you say you are going to Seymour). He moved there at the end of March and we have been driving back and forth since.Sunday when I got back from the weddings David came to Auburn, and we celebrated my birthday. He gave me an amazing gift of a Le Creuset French oven (or Dutch oven, the booklet says French). I still haven’t gotten a chance to cook in it, but I cannot wait!  I then went there on Friday to spend the weekend. Our schedules are not friends, but we make it work. I’m going back soon and we are going to Dollywood! Heck yeah!

The last weekend in June was Melissa’s bachelorette party in Dauphin Island. Oh it was great; Very relaxing and very exciting. I hope it was everything Melissa wanted. We ate lots of good food, lounged in the sun, swam, tried to escape heat stroke, were entertained by a stone dog, and just had a good time. I can’t believe there her wedding is getting so close. Oh how time flies!

I know I that I have left out many many things, but my memory isn’t so good. I think I hit all the high points. I will be back with updates on Fourth of July, Dollywood and all the other events that the month of July holds in store. Crazy! I will be on the road every weekend!
